OHC at 125

Our open house for the 125th anniversary of Holy Cross was a considerable success.  Lots of friends, long time friends and new ones as well visited.  People came from all the Santa Barbara parishes and people who are not members of a parish also came.  We munched cookies, ate deserts, visited and prayed together.  All told, it was fun.

Holy Cross is not large.  The fact that we have survived for 125 years is something of an act of God.  To a large extent, our survival is due to the love and support of friends such as you.  We could not do it without you.

I just have to make a comment, I was raised in Santa Barbara CA, and when we were in Jr. High School the Sisters Arrived to start their mission, we were ask as the members of Trinity Church to help the Sisters move in, we did that and remain friends and Associate of the Order ever since, I am so pleased that OHC has moved in to continue their work. I am also familiar with OHC and Mt Calvary as I used to go up to the monastery when Bishop Campbell was there and used to have tea on Sunday Afternoons, and I must say he was the best confessor I ever had, I still miss him and its been years.
That's all, good luck to you all, and one of theses days I will visit you there when it does not cost an arm and leg to fly. I now live in Roswell New Mexico, the UFO Capital of the word.
Sincerely,
Phyllis S. Sherwood
